CEO Express 9 -- this site uses the 80-20 rule to show you the 20% of the internet that has 80% of the net's usefulness. A great home page, full of links to other sites. Big time saver.

IRS (5) The new, improved, Internal Revenue Service web site. This site is "all text" during busy periods to save time.

Power Reporting A site with hundreds of up to date links to information. Designed as a research tool for journalists (for things such as fact-checking or people finding) the site takes no ads. The list of "people finding" sites, for example, is very impressive and complete, as are many of the other categories. Could be invaluable for someone trying to research a speech or as an assistant for an article they are writing for publication. Of course it is useful for anyone trying to get the facts on something.

US Treasury Try the "browse" feature, it takes you to IRS forms and information, available for download. A service of the US Treasury

Your Government (5) A great resource site -- many links to Congressional e-mail, and much, much more. You have to check this one out!

SBA (5) The Small Business Administration. This site is so good that 1.3 million people visit it every week. That is up from 640,000 site visitors a week less than a year ago. There is help and information on this site, as you will see.

US Senate The US Senate, with ways to search for specific congressmen or committees (for e-mail addresses) or legislative activities.

The State (4) The State Newspaper (Columbia, SC) on-line !!! They call this Cyber-State. Lots of thing to see and do on this site.

U.S. News Magazine (3.8) The headline stories and a little bit more from the U.S. News print magazine. Watch for this one to get better over time. You can send in letters to the editor by e-mail using this site.

BusinessWeek Magazine (4.5) This is a good version of a print magazine, and offers some interesting ways to travel around for good business information.

US Senate The US Senate, with ways to search for specific congressmen or committees (for e-mail addresses).

Free Tax Advice Some free tax advice, can't say what it is worth, but you might want to check this out.

2,000 Books, 900 Magazines This is a pay-for-view site. You can cruise for information from a vast "e-library" of books and magazines, and 150 full text newspapers. But, after a brief free trial, they charge for use of this research facility.

30,000 Movies (5) A top-notch site, with movie reviews --- and these are well written reviews! Search by title, star, and so forth. You can't go wrong with this site if you like the movies.

NBC. Yes, the major TV networks do have web-sites too!

JazzTrax If you listen to Jazz Trax on the radio on Sunday mornings, this site is a neat resource. It lists all the tracks being played, the times, artists, and other information.

SouthernPRIDE Magazine This is a pioneering venture to put a family oriented magazine about the South and its many charms on the WWW. This will not be a clone of some print magazine, this is a new company, from scratch!

Family Doctor On-LineCalled "Medical House Call on the Net", this site has a search engine for diseases, medications, and more. Browser should support frames. Interesting possibilities for finding out more about medical conditions.

Physicians American Academy of Physicians site, you can ask questions, and get answers. Look up diseases and symptoms.

Census Bureau Home page of the US Census Bureau. Try the "for fun" section, click on your state, then your county. You can then zoom in on any point you "click" on the map.... try 9X zoom for example. Can be slow, even with a fast modem. But the results are very interesting. It does work. Allows you to download the maps in GIF. The other site features could be very useful as well. You can find population by job classification, and much more. All for specific counties.

US Population (right up to this minute) . After you get the home page, click on the click face that says "Current US Population Count" You will note that we are gaining one "net" person about every 13 seconds. The world population grows at about 7 million a month. Serious growth, isn't it?

Books on Tape Worlds Largest Selection of books on tape for rent. First rental about $5, thereafter, could be $13 more or less.

Fax from the Web. For 10 cents a minute, after 50 free minutes, you can e-mail a message and this company will re-send it as a fax to the person you desire.

Electric Library This is a good look up service, a 30 day free trial, after that, you pay.

Best Gov. Links on the Web This is it, the best set of links anywhere. Foreign or the good ole US, there are links galore on this simple site. Scroll down to the USA just to see what potential there is. Even has every state's link. When you need it, this site could be really valuable. Has links to just about every government and gov-agency on the planet. All in text, so it loads fairly fast. Scroll down to US (it takes a while, maybe 20 pages down) -- and find a link to everything from the US Army to the White House. For some , this could be a real resource. Start here and find just about anything that is even remotely connected to a government somewhere in the world.

America's Business Funding Directory An interesting group of options to fund a small business.

Libraries all over the world Very complete links to many of the World's libraries and other research centers.

Accurate Eye Links to almost anything.

Full Text, Electronic Library A library in Kansas with no books, everything is full text, and on-line.

Ask an Expert A site that you can browse to find an expert in just about any topic. These experts (most will give e- mail advice for free) have hot-linked e-mail addresses on the site, and some have home pages. A little effort learning this site might pay big dividends some day.

Guide for Entrepreneurs : "Business School E-Zines"
Wharton School of Business, (U. of Penn) Timely topical and insightful business writing. Plenty of information taken from academic research.
Harvard Business School Interviews with top professors and industry leaders on entrepreneurial issues.
Stanford University Learning about the Stanford B-school, some gems here, but not enough real world coverage, but the site plans an overhaul soon.
University of Chicago Summaries of research in economics and finance, conducted by some of the country's top business professors.
